A New Day A New Beginning

This blog is for anybody....ANYBODY....Everybody has something creative in them. I have worked in a creative occupation for 18 years and there is one thing that I have learned....EVERYBODY is creative and has an artistic drive in them. It all comes down to what your mind is telling your heart. Vincent Van Gogh said "If you hear a voice within you saying 'You are not a painter,'then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." As you get used to seeing your creative ideas on paper you develop the confidence to eventually step out and say to the world that you are creative. If you feel inadequate then rest assured art can and has been taught. Deciding to start an art journal is a heart choice not a head choice. This book is for you and you alone. No critics (That means you) no rules just an inner expression on paper.
So where to start? You must purchase a book:
-Spiral notebook
-child's board book from the dollar store
- used book from a thrift store
-sketch book from a bookstore
Any book that you can alter will do. I personally like children's board books with little windows that pop up or out. If you buy a book that is already printed on such as a children's board book then you need to buy a bottle of white gesso at the art supply store.
Then, gather art supplies that are special to you. If you like to paint get paints, if you like to assemble start a resource file, if you do everything in pencil or ink then do so....This book is all yours so you make the rules. That's it! that's all you need to get started.
